Red Oak Animal Hospital’s commitment to your horses extends to the national stage. We actively participate in legislative advocacy, working with organizations like the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) to support initiatives like the Rural Veterinary Workforce Act. By advocating for the profession in Washington D.C. and serving on the AAEP committee for Student Education and Outreach, Dr. Sutter strives to improve the standards of care for horses and veterinarians alike across the country.
Kansas Veterinary Medical Association Leadership
Dr. Sutter’s service to KVMA (Kansas Veterinary Medical Association) involves being on the Board of Directors as a District Director of Equine from 2019 to 2025. She then transitioned to Vice President and later in 2026 she will move into the role of President-Elect.
July 2025 — AVMA Legislative Fly-In, Washington D.C.
Dr. Sutter was able to represent the KVMA at the AVMA Veterinary Leadership Conference in January 2026.
Kansas Equine Practitioner’s Group
Dr. Sutter is on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Equine Practitioner’s Group, where she has served as Committee Vice Chairman and Committee Chairman.
International Veterinary Chiropractic Association — Practical Exam Proctor
February 2026, Dr. Maureen Sutter at Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic, where she helps proctor the IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association) Practical Exam for IVCA Certification.

IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association) has used Dr. Sutter’s expertise in chiropractic care by having her proctor the IVCA Practical Exam on several occasions.
